Eistedder yn hedd y cartref
Un o hoff feysydd Pedair Cainc ydi creu sedd neu gadair i gwsmer. Maent yn ddarnau o ddodrefn gwbwl ymarferol, a pheth braf ydi creu rhywbeth y gwyddwn gaiff ei ddefnyddio am flynyddoedd.
Yn ystod y blynyddoedd diwethaf, fe ddyluniwyd ac adeiladwyd amryw o seddi gwahanol, gan gynnwys seddi cefn ffyn Cymreig, seddi cyntedd, stolion, meinciau i'r bwrdd bwyd, a mainc goffa.
Mae sedd draddodiadol gennym yma yng Nghymru, sef y sedd gefn ffyn. Yn wahanol i gadair Windsor, mae ein seddi ag onglau trawiadol a phryd a gwedd led syml ond hynod lân, elfennau sy'n eu galluogi i eistedd yn braf mewn hen ffermdy ym mynyddoedd Meirionnydd, neu mewn fflat modern yn y Bae.
Defnyddir amryw o bren i greu seddi Pedair Cainc, gan gynnwys derw, llwyfen ac onnen, a rheiny wedi eu prynu yn uniongyrchol o felinau coed Cymreig.
Please, take a seat
One of Pedair Cainc's favourite tasks is to create a seat or chair for a customer. They're an extremely practical piece of furniture, and it's a warm feeling knowing they will be used for years to come.
During the last few years, seasof various styles have been designed and built in the workshop, including Welsh stick-backed benches, porch seating, stools, dining benches and a memorial bench.
We have our chairmaking traditions here in Wales, our Welsh stick chairs. They differ to the Windsor/farmhouse chairs, our chairs feature quite expressive and strong angles, couple with simple and clean lines. Which enables them to blend well in an old cottage in the mountains of Eryri as well as a trendy flat in Cardiff.
Various native hardwoods are used to build Pedair Cainc's seating, including oak, elm and ash, all of which are bought directly from Welsh sawmills.
